polaris electrical problem

Default polaris electrical problem

hello i have a 1989 polaris trail boss 250 i just recently put a battery in it the old one has been dead for months just used the pull rope to startit well i put the batt in and installed a winch then it started doing the weirdest think it boged out and started idling funny i try and rev it up and it bog i checked all my wireing cant seem to figure it out it stumps me because it never did this before i installed the battand winch

Unplug the black wire from the reverse limiter module. This was a common problem on all Polaris atvs. They'd short out and start limiting in forward or die in reverse. You'll have full power in reverse without having to use the over ride button on the left control switch. Item #33.
