Default 2000 sportsman 335 no spark

Howdy first time on the forum. I was reading some posts from back in 08 and got to the point where it will run but wont shut off. There is only 1 black wire in the cdi. Not sure what to do next.

If the black wire is hooked up,you've also eliminated the ignition switch or the emergency switch or it's wiring as a problem, doesn't happen often but the cdi kill circuit wire itself could be shorted out internally not allowing it to kill the ignition. If you don't have a wiring diagram or a service manual here's one for 9 bucks that could help you track down the problem.2000 POLARIS SPORTSMAN 335 4X4 ATV REPAIR MANUAL

I disconnected the black wire, it goes to aconnector with 2 wires coming out. after disconnecting got spark and starts with just a bump of the switch. does not shut off with the switch on the handlebar or key switch pluged wire back in and it shuts off.

Then either sounds like a wiring short from the harness that the kill wire hooks into or an internal cdi problem. You just need to dig a little deeper if you haven't, especially on the wiring and connectors from the left control switch that go under the pod area. All it takes is a bare wire grounding out the cdi kill wire.
