front tire clearance
#2
Just measure your old tires inside clearance. So if you have 8" wide tires now you only need 1" inside clearance since the other 1" in on the outside where there is nothing for the tire to rub.
So your going to a wider tire in front and a narrower tire in the rear?

I have the 2001 500 which is the same chassis,tires and suspension as the 2002 700. http://www.atvreviewnetwork.com/enth...e2=3923&go=GoI
I put 25x9 fronts on with room to spare so you should be fine.
Just crank your handle bars from side to side and take measurements to make sure you have the extra 1" inside clearance needed at all turning positions.

The only other thing to watch out for is the setback on the new rims. I don't know what the stock setback is but it is measured from the flat part of the hub to the inside rim. If it's the same on the ITP rims and the stock machine the only other thing to watch out for is the tie rod ends.

It clears the tie rod ends a half inch with the stock wheels and 8" wide tires and the itp wheels is 12x7 and back spacing is 4" ..I know that after markets widen out your stance. and @TLC do you have aftermarkets on your 500 ?

No I have the stock front rims with the 4 + 3 off set. I think that's the stock front off set.
Here is a good chart to look it up. They also have aftermarket ITP rims in there.
