hi everyone im new to the forum and hopefully some of you guys can help me out with this. i just bought a 86 Fourtrax from a guy from what i was told is its not getting a spark and the starter gear jumps and slips out of place after the first crank. i think the issue with the spark problem is the cid, or the stator. but im unsure about the starter issue i looked and compared it to a 95 fourman 300 i have here at the house and the starter, stator and some other parts are exact matches to the 350.im gonna do some work on it tomorrow but any ideas on what else it can be please let me know.

 

Is the starter trying to turn it over? Do the teeth engage and actually turn the engine over, or does it just grind?
