Default Honda Rancher won't shift to neutral

Hey, just got on this site today.

So I live in Nome, AK., and I am driving a Honda Rancher. I am really new to the four wheeler world, just took it to the shop about 3 weeks ago and it got a once over: new oil cause it was milky, new spark plug, new hose for the gas tank. i bought the thing used and it's kinda given me trouble from day one, works awesome in the summer.

Here is my issue, yesterday when I left work it was about 15 degrees out, started up fine and I went to the gym. I got out about two hours later, temperature was at 3. Wouldn't start. Neutral light wasn't on, starter wouldn't even fire up. I tried pushing it to see if I could get the gears unstuck (if that was the issue) and no luck. Wouldn't even work with a pull start. It's a manual shift so it has the foot shift next to the gear box. I went to try to start it today and it wouldn't it's about 9 degrees out. Not sure if it's something frozen up, or if the gear box is busted. Now that I think about it, I can't remember if I shifted it all the way to neutral when I turned it off (so that's pretty dumb of me). It's gonna be below 15 degrees for the next week, so not sure If I'll be able to start it up.

Any ideas? I don't want to take it right to the shop since, like I said, I just did that and spent about a little over $300 only three weeks ago. Any help would be awesome! It's making me

You need to be in neutral for the starter to crank. If you're sure you have in neutral and the neutral light won't come on, you may want to look into your neutral relay.
