polaris clutch weights 2006 hawkeye
#1
First off thanx for all your help with my wifes hawkeye. I just recieved the clutch weights and want to get them installed. But as i look at them there is two different sides one has alum exposed and the othe side has red all the way around...as you are looking at the clutch on the bike which way do they go in red toward the front of the bike or toward the rear. ?

Might be wrong on this as I haven't installed different counter weights on the Hawkeye, but the red could just be an indicator as to the gram weight. Standard weights on the break down shows yellow.I'd just face the red ends all the same way and give it a try. i am not questioning the color. they are 12 gram high alt red. yellow is 14 gram low alt and there is also white etc..... but i am sure with one side being different than the other there must be a reason for that design. i read on here about it and the person said in his/her post to be sure to put them in in the correct direction but i cant find the thread........

Here's a link to a free Polaris Hawkeye manual that I found online. The site has free manual downloads for everything from a Hawkeye to a Corvette Z06.

BINGO !!!! Perfect i looked at your link and found exactly what i was looking for ! thanx very much.........When installing disc style clutch weights aka red, white, yellow. the full color side goes toward the thrust direction of the clutch. I other words when looking at the clutch still on the bike full color edge faces the rear end of bike.......thanx again.........
