Hello my boyfriend and I recently bought an 06 jianshe 400 4x4 mountain lion. And when you ride up a hill or in the trails or something and your in third gear feels like it cuts out grinds for a second and goes back into gear so its sounds like a bad transmission to me but we cannot find a way to check and see if there is any fluid in this thing or not can't really tell where the transmission is and also after starting it and running for like 5 mins it gets really hot and the exhaust coming off the engine is glowing bright orange if someone can please help us out and maybe explain some of this to us this is our first four wheeler and its Chinese and also in the manual I don't know if I should be worried but there are a lot of missed spelled words like a 5th grader wrote the book don't know if I should be worried about that or not lol but anyways PLEASE HELP!!!

 

if the exhaust if glowing orange, you're running too lean, you need to adjust the carb to richen up the mix. send pics of the engine/gearbox area and i'll help you out. i'm not real familar with your model of quad, but i'll help out. is it an automatic, semiauto, or manual shift?
