Default Help me buy a sports quad!

Hi I'm looking for a quad to go riding in ocotillo, I'm 6ft 300 pounds. I've ridden a honda 400 which was alright. I mostly have suspension questions, I recently rode a a Yamaha raptor 700 special edition and I loved the suspension on it, I mean when I sat on it, the rear shock compression was not significantly lowered. I tried regular raptors and their *** is just too soft for my weight. Can this problem be fixed by adjusting the rear spring or something ?
I looked into a bombardier ds650 but I want something I can sell in the future.
My style of riding mostly hauling *** going over dips, no jumps(maybe less than a foot)
Budget is 3300$ nothing older than 04

Depending on year, the SE probably had more adjustment range than the regular raptor. That may account for the differences. Yes you can adjust the preload on the springs to soften or stiffen the ride on all of them however. For the record, you actually WANT some sag in the shocks for best function.

True, sag in suspension is good. But it's so soft I can push it significantly with just my arm, so will I be able to adjust it to make it stiffer for my weight ?

You will have to look at the shock to see if it has any pre load left. The top is threaded with a couple of large rings/nuts that can be adjusted. Even if it ends up being to soft(and I think you will be fine for your described riding) the rears on all Raptors are rebuildable/revalveable. Find a shock specialist to put a heavier spring on it, revalve for your weight/use. That shock should perform at least 75 or 80% as well as a high $$ aftermarket unit, and way better than stock. That is what I did on my YFZ(same shock essentially.) Completely satisfied with it.
