It is pretty straight forward. If you look you will see a couple nuts on the axle, near the center. These are what actually holds the bearings in. On some of the newer models, you will have to pop off a snap ring to be able to access the nuts. Some models have nuts on both sides of the axle housing, some only on one side. If yours has the nuts only on one side, you will have to take the hub off the end of the axle only on that side. If yours has nuts on both sides (which I THINK it will, if it is concentric drive) both hubs will have to come off. Simply remove the nuts from each side of the axle, and the bearings will come out after removing the brake disk and sprocket. Don't forget the inner races which will still be in the aluminum center housing. They can be removed (each to the out-side) with a punch & hammer, using care to not let them get ****-eyed in the housing. The seal will pop out at the same time. Installation is in reverse, just be sure to tap gently, and hold the punch against the shoulder of the bearing race so as not to mar the bearing surface. The race is tapered (on the inside) so be sure to put the new one in exactly as the old one came out. After the races are set, install the axle in the housing, both bearing cones & inner races, the seals, and O-rings. Re-install the sprocket (on its hub) and the brake disk (ditto), and snug the nuts to just eliminate play, then re-install the nut retainers and snap ring.
Needless to say, clean everything off good, pack the bearings with grease before installing them, and give a couple shots of grease to the zerk.
You can really do yourself a BIG favor by going to www.polarisindustries.com clicking on the 'parts manual' which is fully downloadable online, and printing off the page. If you don't want to wait for the download, can't find it, or if it doesn't work, reply back, and I can scan the necessary page & e-mail it directly to you. It is for an Xplorer, but I think they are the same axle & housing.
