Default LT 80 clutch mod question

Have a 2001 LT 80 and have been reading about the clutch mods where you take 1 or 2 rollers out of the front clutch and lighten the arms on the driven clutch. What is actually happening from these mods? Is is to engage the drive at a higher rpm?

Welcome to the forums.
Yes it changes the stall speed. It seems to smooth them out on take off..
The rear shoe mod is the most important, the rollers are a personal thing. Most like it, some don't.

Thanks for reply. Whats the most common way to shave the weight off the rear clutch shoes? Drill holes or grind maybe?

I cut them off approx 1/2 inch from the contact pad then drill the back side to the weight desired.
