I just recently got a 99 400 Explorer and would like to know some cool power upgrades for bigger tires. Do they make K&N Filters for Explorer 99 400? Also what other things are for power upgrades?

I put delta 2 v force reeds in my "00" explor 400 4x4, WHAT A BIG DIFFERENCE!!!it takes the front end off the ground. great low to mid range you can also try playing with the clutch any after market will make a noticeable difference.

The least exspensive[25$] thing to do is to change the primary spring from the stock blue/green over to the green spring. This will dramatically wake up the ATV out of the hole. You will wheelie without effort.

I also have a Dynoport pipe[300$],Delta V-force reeds and spacer[180$],air box mod[35$],and KN filter[40$],but most of these all cost big $$,good luck,
Bill

We just did a few cheap upgrades to my buddies '98 Xplorer 400. A K&N filter, Boyesen Pro Reeds, and the stock primary spring off my Scrambler.

It realy woke it up! Zero to 40 mph seems to be about twice as fast as stock. These items were cheap and did do a good job.

'96 Scrambler w/RCR Stage 1 kit, Boyesen Power Reeds, and K&N filter.
