Question 02 Sportsman 500 HO CV Axles

Well, it seems like OPT has helped me so much that I got my machine working very well. I went to Croom ATV park and tore it up yesterday and had a BLAST! You know the saying, "If you don't break anything, you aren't having enough fun". Well I had A LOT of fun. That being said, I am in need of at least one CV axle (front right). My question is, is the front right and left the same part numbers? (Can I just order 2) or are they different? Also, Where do I find the proper part numbers so if I purchase them from somewhere that has the year and model listed I can compare part numbers. I am also looking for a new FAN part number as well. (fan bearing sounds shot). Thanks in advance.

Drive shafts are the same. Plus you can either get oem or there are plenty of after market ones from ones on ebay or even Epi or Gorilla drive shafts. Plus you can get just the cv joint or even the u joint if that all's what's damaged along with oem boot kits. Stay with oem boots if you go that route!

Thanks OPT!
Last question is I got newer model Polaris rims and when I mounted them on the bike, the wheel studs are too short whereas the lug nuts can only grip about 1 or 2 turns on them. On the old steel rims when the lug nuts are tight the lugs come completely through the nuts. Do I need spacers? Change out the studs? What's the fix to this?

No need to get expensive wheel spacers. Just get longer hub studs.Plenty places around that have them.http://www.ebay.com/itm/POLARIS-SPORTSMAN-EXTENDED-FRONT-REAR-WHEEL-STUDS-Grade-8-Fits-450-800-ATVs-/291388819220?pt=Motors_ATV_Parts_Accessories&hash=item43d8208714&vxp=mtr Plus didn't notice about needing a fan also. You can get a 9" Spal fan here, same as the one you have.http://www.ebay.com/itm/Spal-Polaris-Cage-Fan-2410123-Sportsman-6-X-6-2002-/131419313090?pt=Motors_ATV_Parts_Accessories&hash=item1e993393c2&vxp=mtr Plus several other places like this one that's cheaper than oem parts.http://www.the-fan-man.com/shop/-c-33.html

Thank you sir! I have the parts lists and will be shopping and waiting for deliveries. Then it's time in the shop to do installs. You know I'll post the progress and events when complete unless I trip and fall and need more guidance.

Wheel studs are about a buck a piece from a dealer.

Winchester120, Thanks man. I think my closest dealer is about 50 miles from me but I was surfing the web at work last night and have my shopping complete. (1 Axle, fan, set of extended lugs & black lug nuts). Unfortunately, nothing should be delivered until Tuesday or Wednesday of next week. Boy, it's gonna be a REALLY LOOOOOONG weekend

Default partial update:

While waiting on parts, I decided to switch the tires to the new rims. The following pictures show my rim test fit on the bike and the new tires mounted. Still waiting on the extended lugs but then I'll be good.

Thanks but I'm just waiting for delivery. It's on its way. What are you looking to get out of it? I may consider it as a spare.
