Dazon 250cc buggy wont start after cdi upgrade
#1
My 2006 dazon 250cc was running fine until I tried to upgrade my cdi with the New Racing CDI which I got from ebay(the blue one) I an not sure if it was the right one (ac/dc). After I hooked up the cdi I tried starting it and nothing. So I put my old CDI back on and it would not start. I checked the inline fuse and it is fine. I checked other connections and they are fine. It will crank fine and sounds like it wants to start but it does not. I checked the spark plug and no spark. I am not sure what could have caused the cdi to go bad. Could it be the stator? I thought the stator only keeps the battery charging.
Can anyone tell me what could have gone wrong? Any help would be GREATLY appreciated!!!

Sorry i forgot to add. I have a 2007 Roketa 250cc. I swamped out the plug to the roketa and plug is fine. Swamped out the coil to the roketa and it is fine. Swamped out the cdi to the roketa and it DOES NOT work. Plugged the roketa cdi into the dazon and it does not work Bought new AFTERMARKET cdi but still nothing. Could the Stator burn up from trying to put possibly an AC cdi if its DC base cdi or vice versa? My dazon has a wire coming from the stator to the cdi but my roketa doesn't.

I never knew there was an AC or a DC version of CDI. You could always measure the output of the stator with a Multimeter to verify it's putting out voltage. Very handy to have if you don't have one. I got mine (CDI) off eBay and just searched on my year/make/model.
Not much to these buggies, so sounds like your on the right track.

Good call! I remember replacing mine as well. I also did the Electrical Box Mod and put all my electronics inside the sealed box you can get from Home Depot.

Stator side is dry, sounds like your removing the wrong side.
