There are little tiny dots stamped in the outer part of the kicker gear shaft that line up with the kicker lever. On the inside there are tiny stamped dots on the kicker gear and the kicker shaft. Just line up all the dots and you're good to go.
Hope this helps. If not pm me and I'll try to copy the pages out of the manual for you.

I haven't fooled with it in a couple days. Maybe later today. I'll post how it goes. Good luck with the kicker. The dots are small so you'll have to look close. Let us know how it goes.

Almost forgot there are also dots on the gear inside that are on the case half near the clutch. If you get them all lined up all you have to do is put the clutch cover back on.

I think that's the way it should look. Just put the cover back on and install a few screws and test it with the spark plug out and use your hand to make sure. I can look at mine and let you know.

I'll make copies of the pages tomorrow and email them to you. They will be in pdf format.
