Exclamation 2009 Grizzly 700 problem with secondary sheave while replacing belt..

Hey folks,

Im having a really crappy issue at the moment. I wanted to replace the drive belt on a 09 grizzly 700, used the 2 bolts to space up the sheave allowing me to remove the belt.. The bolts i had were too short (ones holding the primary guard), went to thread a longer one , gave it 2-3 more turns (than the one already maxed out) but still could not get enough slack to remove the belt.

Now, while backing up the bolts to start over i noticed the belt was wayy too slack, and my sheave did not fully "close" as it should.. So belt is loosy-hangy and i have the feeling i really messed up.. What can i do!?

Turn the driven pulley round by hand and see what happens.

You do have to remove the outer part of the front pulley to get the old belt off, and occasionally I have had to remove the rear pulley assembly. Not sure if you need to do this on the 700 Yam as I have only done one on a 550.
