Default Looking at a Baja Reaction 150cc - Should I run?

Hey all,

Complete less the wiring harness. Yup, harness is missing. Is this available as I see lots of wiring harnesses on ebay. Not sure if this is a GY6. Anyone have any input?

Thanks,
Leo

What are you gonna use it for?
How much $$$ do you want to put into it?
A go cart like that would not go very far around here, but the kids sure do love to run them around, so it all depends on what you want it for?

Those are what I ask myself when I consider a new build/purchase
with no harness you can still check compression clutch operation and more

Desert hard pack riding mostly. I already have a 250cc Joyner buggy. This was for my son.

$$ as little as possible like any used purchase.

It's a CVT so no clutch.

I know its a CVT machine LOL
but you can inspect the clutches before you buy
I say go for it if the budget allows and you can see it benefiting your son!
Of course it must be CHEAP!!

I would roll it see if it has obvious compression and clutches are turning engine
Move it side to side and check for wheel bearing play
check brake cables and function, check oil level, etc
You know the usual!

So what did you decide? Is it home yet? Or still thinking about it?

Yeah, seller wanted $450 but said he'll go $350. I still say too much. My Joyner 250cc was a basket case but at least it was compete and I got it for $140 and the dude transported it to my house. Albeit we live in the same city.

Getting ready to sell my Joyner as I put a bunch of $ into it and it runs flawless. It's been a great buggy in the desert for the past 3 seasons. Need to upgrade to an 800cc before the desert season starts in Nov.

It depends on how good you are at wiring. They are not too complex as a rule, but expect wiring colours to be wrong on the new loom, and some components to have a different number of wires to them, compared with what you get with an eBay loom.

Huh? If the motor turns when rolling a CVT, something is wrong.

Lol guys. Yeah, I have a pretty good understanding on cvt's and gearboxes. Replaced most of the gears in the gearbox as they were stripped and clutches, springs, rollers, belt, etc in the cvt.

Electrical I am ok with. I also see the ebay ones already can come with everything hooked into it like the cdi, coil, etc. I can solder, heatshrink as well as crimp to extend if I needed to.

These are great replies. I appreciate it.
