I have a Hammerhead Twister 150 that will idle most of the time but shuts off as soon as you touch the gas pedal. Any ideas?

 

Probably running a slightly weak mixture, most likely cause is a bit of dirt in a jet. Engines need a rich mixture on acceleration, that is why you can see those old V8 carbs squirt a glug of fuel in when you open the throttle on a 70s car engine.
