I have replaced my 3 rd starter on m y 850 sportsman All three have the same issues . The bendix will not engage. Number 3 is not more than six months old.Getting 12 volts to starter but will not engage

Checked the battery? If not have it load tested. Voltage may show 12+ volts but may drop below 9 volts when placed under a load if a cell is weak or dead. Here's a good article on this.https://www.batterystuff.com/blog/ho...ry-is-bad.html
