Default 2011 trailblazer 330 starter issues

So I went to start quad and it made a ticking noise tried to bypass solenoid and nothing replaced starter and solenoid and bam starter it was. I installed new starter tried to start and all I'm hearing is the starter spinning freeley. I removed pull starter cover and noticed the starter gear wasent engaging with crank gears. I figured bad Starter gear replaced that installed everything tried to start and same issue starter and starter gear spinning freely not engaging on crank gears. Anybody have some advice this is getting frustrating.

Check the bushings in the recoil and engine case for any burrs or damage that could interfere with the bendix operation. Plus don't over look the battery itself even if it's fairly new. If it doesn't have enough amperage, even though it may show over 12 volts, that could be enough to keep the starter from spinning over fast enough so the bendix can kick out and engage the flywheel. Look at how you can test a battery to eliminate it as the problem. https://www.batterystuff.com/blog/ho...ry-is-bad.html Has to be a reason why two bendixes do the same thing.

Ok I left out the part where I was using a battery charger on 2amp mode connected to neg and POS wires of quad to start it. It crossed my mind that 2amp or 10amps selections wasent enough power but I figured since it spinning the starter it was good enough (I guess not enough to kick out the bigger gear) I think that's the issue .Let me try with actual battery and get back to you .

Also I did notice the bushing in the case was torn in half but still seized in place . Guess I need to replace that as well. Do you know the correct term for that bushing so I can get a new one ?

Only time we stop learning is when we croak.. The bushing isn't cheap, but needs to be replaced. Just be careful and not damage the case. If the bushing is already cracked you can use a small punch or chisel or even a die grinder or dremel to notch it and then crack it. Put the new bushing in the freezer, heat the case up with a torch or heat gun and tap the new one in. Couple places online cheaper than ebay, but factor in shipping and then they're not. Polaris used the same bushing for all models.3083669 Polaris | eBay

If the bushing in the recoil cover is ok,just replace the cracked one in the case unless you just want to.The bushing in the case takes the greater wear when the force of the starter engages the bendix. The bushing in the recoil cover is more of a guide to keep the bendix straight. Again just look at its condition. If you do decide to replace both, just remove it the same way with a die grinder or dremel, crack the old bushing in a couple pieces being careful not to damage the softer recoil metal.

Ok I'll double check before ordering.

This is my 1st polaris. These things are sensitive lol. Previous owner cut off the snorkel on the air box lid (idk why) and replace it with a plastic covering a portion of the open square. I removed the plastic and started the quad it was running like crap. I then covered a portion of the hole with my hand and started it up ran smooth as butter. I'm was shocked how sensitive the carb Is to when taking in more air. I'm talking about a 4 inch long 1 inch wide hole it would run like crap if i dont cover half of that up.

Why people have to keep messin' with things.. ALL Polaris models are jetted with the air box, filter, cover and air tubes in mind and in place. Modify the air inlet and they'll run lean.. They're lean enough from the factory as they are. Just get the correct parts needed. Here's one place, plus you can check out Cycle Parts Warehouse,Partzilla,etc.2011 Polaris TRAIL BLAZER 330 (A11NA32AA) Engine, Air Intake System | Cheap Cycle Parts Hopefully the idiot previous owner hasn't messed with the fuel screw block off plug either on the carb and altered settings.
