Default 2008 Sportsman 90 Rear Brake Drum

I have a 2008 Polaris Sportsman 90 and was wondering how to remove the rear drum to get to the brake shoes?

Thanks,

RJG

Loosen the rear brake cable adjuster to where there is back and forth play on the brake arm. On some machines you may have to remove the adjuster wing nut all the way to remove pressure from the brake arm.If the arm has play this at least tells you the shoes aren't contacting the drum. If the drum hasn't been removed before it still may be a tough to remove. This is where a good dead blow hammer can help by tapping all around the drum and on the end of the shaft. The drum has a rubber sleeve to help control moisture but doesn't stop all of it.On some really hard ones to remove I've had to use a little PB Blaster and a propane torch around the center of the drum along with using the dead blow.
