This is a general question for anyone that owns a King Quad 300cc. Has anyone ever put a set of tracks on one? If so how did they and the bike perform? What are the Pro's and Con's?

The Reason I'm asking is I found a set online from camoplast t4s, that they make for my King Quad 300. I do mostly ice fishing, and sometimes go into some back lakes. Before people say buy a snowmobile, I'm wondering if a set a tracks is to much for my 2001 Suzuki king quad 300

Guys I know with tracks run them on 500 cc or larger machines. They tend to rob a lot of power and you also have greater fuel usage too. I'm pretty sure the older King Quad with the Extra Low range would be able to move them, just not too fast.

 

Here is an update to my question. I went ahead and put tracks on my 2001 King quad 300cc, and will post pictures soon. The track kit I went with is the Camso r4s, which is a new track designed for 500cc and smaller. My king quad, turns them no problem at all even with a loaded sleigh. I was out playing in the deep snow, over the weekend and went spots where I didn't think it would go.

So if anyone has been debating tracks, for their king quads. The Camso r4s is the way to go.

 

Can't wait to see pictures. Due they use gear reduction for the tracks? Interested how they make them so the lower power quads aren't an issue for turning them.

 

From what I was told at the dealer there is a 40% reduction, but these tracks are 8inch compared the regular 12inch. The price was what sold me they sell for $2499 plus taxes. There is a youtube video up about them, google Camso R4S. I'm heading to my ice shack, today and i'm bringing my gopro so I will post a video of them in action.

 

A snowmobile would have cost less than that around here. But again we hardly get any snow so if one does go for sale on craigslist, they have to practically give it away. Like this https://stlouis.craigslist.org/snw/d...475106095.html.

 

Up here in Northern Ontario, we get lots of snow. I also have a snowmachine its a tundra. The price of the tracks, are worth it in my opinion, but everyone has there own opinion.

 

If you get lots of snow, I can definitely see where they come in handy. Compared to the price of some track systems I've seen, the ones you picked are somewhat of a bargain. I've seen some that cost $4000 or more. I have yet to spend more than that on a whole used atv. I"m sure they are good in mud too as when all that snow melts it becomes a muddy mess.

 

OP so have have the tracks been holding up and do you still think they are worth it? We would still love to see a picture or video.
