Default 1998 polaris xplorer 300 locked up no compression?

I was using my xplorer with a grass sweeper when suddenly it started to bog down and die i went to pull start it and i could only get a few inches of rope out like it was stuck so i left it and came back a while later and the pull rope was loose again started it back up continued to use the grass sweeper and it stopped running again now i can pull the rope and it feels like there is nothing there no compression or air being pushed out of the exhaust. I am wondering what has happened and what i need to do to fix it, i am thinking the oil pump went bad and the engine is going to need to be rebuilt but i would like some opinions?

Piston seized, then it cooled down enough for the engine to crank then rings lost seal against the cylinder when it got hot and expanded. Don't necessarily blame the oil pump. Most of the time people run them until they drop. Usually you'll hear some warning signs like excessive piston slap or clatter or hard starting. Top end for sure plus you need to check the rod for any up and down play along with the crank bearings for any roughness or noise when you roll the rod over. Just my two cents.I'd never just do a top end when a piston seizes. Hard to get all the metal shavings out of the bottom end. Best to do it right or risk having a new top end damaged.
