Default loss of electrical power

2006 sportsman 500 HO EFI. I shut it off with the key , went back about 10 mins. later and no electrical power anywhere, no key on power, no winch. removed key switch and found that the only power to the key switch is on the yellow wire. its not good power though as its only 7.72VDC . I get the same voltage using the frame, engine block or battery neg. term. as my ground. The battery is fully charged, connections are shiny clean and wrench tight. ground connections to the engine block and frame have been verified with a load tester. current battery voltage is 12.53VDC. Thank you for your time

did you make sure the shut off is turned on or is there power to it? if so I think thee is a fusible link between the battery and switch near the battery area.

Default loss of electrical power

I hadn't checked the kill switch as I figured it was after the key switch in the circuit. I will check that and look for a fusible link . thank you

When mine did this, I replaced the kill switch, and was back in business.
If that doesn't do it, I would suspect the ecm.
