Can anyone tell me what modifications i can do to improve preformance (power, handling, etc.) on my 97 Trail Blazer. I can't buy any upgrades at the moment but i want to know if things like pulling the plug out of the muffler or drilling holes in it will help. Any input would be apreciated.

There are a lot of things you can do. It all depends on how fast you want to go and how much you want to spend. You can drill out the silencer, or you can get a pipe and silencer. You can also change sprockets. There is porting and polishing, big carbs, and bore jobs. You can also get wiseco pistons, and lighter flywheels. You can also shave weight by gettting a starter blockoff, oil blockoff, cut the plastic, and get a lot of aluminum parts. You can also play with the weights and springs in your clutch. I hoped I gave you a general idea of what you can do to make your TB scream.......Stick

Thanx Stick, that helped. But i was kind of thinking more along the lines of smaller enhancements. My parents don't want me to get a pipe or clutch kit because they say it will tear it up. I want to know what kind of changes i can make without them knowing (or really caring).

This is one thing you could do without your parents knowing. Cut the tube that extends into your airbox back to about 1 inch. Take your airbox lid off and you will see it on the bottom of the lid. I did this to mine and it helps acceleration a little but not much. Ask the guy with the user name Sburdman about modifications for your TB he knows alot of cool stuff.

Good luck!

Go to www.hpd-inc.com
They have the hottist polaris performance of all the after market performance.
They are the only one(That I know of)that make a full out racer!!!!(Yes out of a polaris)(a 400 with over 70 hp!!!!!!!!!!)

Cut the tube that extends into your airbox back to about 1 inch from the top of the inside ribs. Use no pre-filter or a good pre filter. use a foam main filter instead of a paper one. uni-filter or twin air filter. this gives a little better throttle response

Thanx everyone for your help. I have a new question now. Does cutting that tube or even removing it lean my four wheeler out? and if so, will it void my warranty?
