1994 Honda Fourtrax spits and sputters

My Honda Fourtrax spits and sputters after about quarter throttle and I’ve cleanes the carb topmto bottom blew out all the jets and put back together and still can’t find out why, has a new spark plug but just sputters and gets almost no power when sputtering please help

I have had a faulty CDI do this, but you must be very, very sure it isn't a carb problem before going to the expense of a new CDI. I tried another carb first, and only when that didn't cure the fault did I try a new CDI. Also, Honda changed CDI type about every three years on the 300, and they all look identical (except the last one) but have different coloured wiring plugs, get the wrong one for your year, and it won't work properly. It may be worth checking if the regulator is overcharging before anything else, as over 14.5v at the battery, can upset the CDI.
