Default Can am ds 650 burning oil

I just recently bought a ds 650 and i changed the oil and filter and i over filled the oil after the first ride it burned most of the extra off and then i put new gas in it and i have rode it for a few hours the past few days and every time i hit the gas hard it puffs a cloud of blue smoke it runs great but to think it’s burning oil and i checked it and it was low what could cause it to burn so much?

Worn rings/ bore, sloppy valve stems, wrong oil weight, a number of reasons. Time to check things over carefully, start with a good compression check!
