TaoTao ATK125A No Spark
#1
Hi-
Hoping to see if anyone here can help with the dire situation at our home...I purchased a 2014 TaoTao ATK 125A used about 2 weeks ago. Previous owner gave up as he stated he has tried everything to get this thing to spark. He replaced the wiring harness, stator, fuse, CDI, Spaek Plug coil and wire etc with no spark. I have tried to hunt this thing down myself and I am now stumped. I completed the Generic testing with these results:
1. Removed kill switch pin at CDI- No spark
2. Resistance of AC Ignition power pin- 410 Ohms
3. Resistance of Timing/Trigger Pin- 124 Ohms
4. AC Volts on Ignition Power pin- 45 VAC
5. AC Volts on Timing/Trigger pin- 0.6 VAC
A. Resistance of Ignition Coil pin- 0.1 Ohms
B. Volts AC at Ignition Coil Pin when Cranking- 0.0 (nothing...)
Not exactly sure I was doing that last test at the right spot in the flow of wiring, I pulled the insulation away, just behind the connector, connecting to the CDI.
Any and all help will be GREATLY appreciated. I think the every kid in the neighborhood is stopping by daily to see if this thing is running...It's starting to look like Children of the Corn if I don't get this thing going!!
