Default 2012 420 Rancher fuel problems

Replaced sparkplug, fuel filter, ran about one hour. Cut off, cranks but will not start. Plug is dry. Fires with starting fluid. Can hear fuelpump cycle when key is turned on. Pulled fuel line off pump gas going to pump. Pulled exit line off at pump, no fuel with key on. Bad pump? Suggestions. Thanks John

Are you sure you can hear the fuel pump, and not the servo motor (ICAV) on the throttle body? I would guess at a failed pump. Take the high pressure line off the fuel pump unit and see if it gushes fuel when you switch on. If it doesn't, check you are getting power to the pump and, if you are, fit a new pump. You can get pumps without the housing etc, now, from aftermarket suppliers, but they are fairly difficult to fit.

I will check the voltage. I took off the high pressure line, nothing. I was checking those replacement pumps/motors. just want to get the right one. Thanks John

One thing I forgot to mention is the fuel pump fuse, worth checking if it is OK,. Also just noticed you had been changing the filter, is it possible you loosened one of the connections to the pump, either the plug on top of filter/pump unit, or the ones inside, from there to pump?

I pulled the pump apart and put 12 volts directly to it. Nothing, ordered a new pump motor.
