Hi there, this suzuki has a weird shifter, in that the shifter pedal is connected to the foot peg, and then is connected to the actual shifter on the transmission through a separate lever. See photos. I have two questions:
1. Can this complex set up be removed and just attach a normal shifter to the normal place on the transmission?
2. If I shift up past 4th or 5th gear, the whole shifter pedal comes all the way back and hits me in the shin. It's really weird.
That set up was used on the Eiger too, not sure if it is still used on the 400 King Quad. A little short pedal directly onto the shaft would need more force to move it, and wouldn't move as much, which is why Suzuki went for the complex solution. The rod looks bent, I would get it straight for a start. I don't know the LT230 but think your gearbox lever is upside down. Does it work "up for up" like it says on the case behind it?
