It sits most of the time. I bought it brand new. Maybe 10 hours total on the unit. Just put a new battery in it, because it would not turn over. It starts now, but will not idle. If i push the throttle, it will stay running till I release it, then it dies. Won't even idle with the choke on. I have held the throttle on till I know it has warmed up and it still dies when I release it. I have tried turning up, what I believe is the idle control screw. (see picture) but no change. It will idle with the choke fully on if I go fully clockwise with the idle screw. Every time I have used it, I have turned the fuel off when I was finished.
The throttle slide is pulled up by the cable against spring pressure, when you take your finger off the throttle, the slide drops down onto the tapered end of that screw, so all the screw does is set how far down the throttle slide sits at idle. If it won't idle with the screw right in, the carb needs a good clean out.
