I have a 2013 Recon i bought new. I barely use it. Mostly sits on a battery tender. I keep the fuel control on off. It maybe has 5 hours on it. Put a new battery in it and it won't idle. I know one has nothing to do with the other, but it would not even start before the new battery. If I hold the throttle in a bit, it will run and stay running. As soon as I let the throttle go it dies. I have let it warm up that way and still no change. It will not idle with the choke on either. To make life easy, I drilled a small hole in my plastic modeling, so I could get directly at the idle screw with a long screwdriver. I am assuming it is the correct screw. Right hand side when you are in the riding position. Large flat head slotted screw. If I turn it pretty much all the way clockwise, the ATV will idle with the choke fully on, but as soon as I turn the choke off, it dies. It really seems to make no difference at all with the choke off when I adjust the screw.
it's clogged. Buy a rebuild kit for $15 off amazon and it'll solve this problem. I just had the same issue. Rebuilt and now starts, idles and drives perfect.
best video for how to instructions. Just watch and do along with this guy.
