LT50 cylinder full of oil?
#1
Friend of mine dropped off an old LT50 saying it died and wouldn’t restart. It’s sat forever(5 years?) since then so I’m not sure what are new issues vs old. They broke the recoil starter so I’ve replaced that.
I pulled the plug and pulled my new cord and it puked dark oil all over the floor. I let it sit a while and pulled the cord and it puked even more. Is it possible I’m getting oil from the gear case or maybe the auto mix(it’s a first gen so everything is hard to see lol). I plan to pull the plastics once the garage warms up but wanted to see if I could get a little wisdom before I go dig into it. Thanks!

Never known an LT50 oil pump to leak, but the oil tank is higher than the carb so I guess it is possible. Get as much out by spinning the engine over, as you can, fit a clean dry plug and see if it starts. LT50s are surprisingly willing to run, if given a chance. Can't see any point whatsoever in removing the plastics.
