Default Lifan twin cylinder cdi wiring

G'day.
I'm getting an old 05 Lifan going again.
I've got spark on one cylinder, but not the other. The wiring, coil and plug are good on the other cylinder, it would seem I'm not getting spark out of the cdi for cyl no.2.
Cyl 2 coil feed is the black and blue wire, and I'm thinking I've been given the wrong cdi, as I've not changed the wiring on the plug around.

Any ideas, as I've heard the lifan cdis were a bit different.

CDI systems for the twin cylinder engines are a nightmare. I had a Quadzilla and never did get it right. However, I did find that not all CDIs that sellers say is for that engine, actually are, Quadzillas pinout was different to the standard Chinese 6pin CDIs. Quadzilla used the same CDI pin for both HT coils though, seemed odd, but had been working. The Quadzilla engine is a Honda Nighthawk clone, is yours? If so, info on Nighthawk ignition systems may help you.

Many thanks, yes it's a nightmare allright!
I have a feeling the cdi is the wrong one, as the bottom left pin, (which should fire cyl no2 coil) has continuity with the earth pin, whilst the top right (which fires off cyl no1 coil) has no continuity with earth.

I'm assuming as long as I get a twin cyl AC cdi, I can just alter the wiring around to suit?

If you are sure the wiring has not already been altered, I would be trying to get an original CDI for it. As I wrote above, the Quadzilla used the same pin for both coils. Some bikes use a coil with two HT leads, one to each plug, some even use two CDIs. There is such a variation on how to fire a twin, that OE is about the only way to go.

Hi, I'm also currently trying to get this Lifan going. (LF250st) to be exact. I'm looking for the ideal cdi. Have you found one??
