So I just recently purchased this 1993 Honda sport tracks 300 and the guy said it was locked up but when I got it home I went to turn it over in the engine was not locked up. I checked to make sure the valves were moving as they should, as I turned it over, I checked the compression it was also good the spark plug is brand new brand new oil filter oil is still brand new what should I do now? Should I clean the carb put everything back together and see if it runs could it just have been may be an electrical issue and it wouldn’t start and the guy thought the motor was screwed. I don’t know I could really use some help on this. Thanks.
I would try it. If it has been seized, air cooled engines usually seize on the piston and/or gudgeon (wrist) pin. There tends to be a bit of piston slap afterwards if they free off without doing too much damage. With roller bearing bottom ends, these don't seize very often. However, it could be miss-diagnosis on the previous owners part, so there may be nothing wrong at all.
