96 Polaris Scrambler 400 electric Start

Default 96 Polaris Scrambler 400 electric Start

Hello, on my 1996 scrambler 400, two-ish months ago I put in a brand new starter motor but kept the old gear assembly. It has worked fantastically until yesterday. The machine died because I forgot to turn the gas on. When I went to restart it the solenoid clicked and nothing happened like the motor was out. When I pushed the start button multiple times it worked. It did that two or three times. I have a new battery that was at 12.25v Do you think my starter motor is already going out? Maybe a loose connection? Attached is the starter motor I got:

Default I found the issue

Wire going from the solenoid to the starter had corroded and was hanging on by a thread or two. I don’t know how to close this thread.

you don't need to close it. this may help someone else look for the same issue. thanks for updating.
