400 Scrambler Starter problems?
I just bought a 1994 Polaris Scrambler 400 (It may officially be called a 400L?)
At least I am 99% sure it is a 1994 ... That what the gu told me when I bought it ...
Anyway, everything is perfect about it except for the starter will not start and I have to pull start it ... WHen I hit the start button The solenoid just clicks once...
Does a good solenoid just click once? What type of solenoid can I use on it ? I tried to short the 2 posts and the started did nothing.. The posts are a little rusted but I am pretty sure it made good contact.
Think this means my starter is dead? I was told to take the starter off and take it apart and spray it down with carb cleaner... Is the starter easy to get out ? I just looked around and from what I can tell it is behind the pull start housing?
Any help or websites that show pictures of the starter being pulled off would be great!
Thanks in advance
