Is anyone else concerned about the 650 being delayed? We're talking about Kawasaki here, a fairly large company. There must be serious problems on the quad for there to be delays this long. I'm half tempted to forget about the prairie and go and buy a rubican or sportsman instead. Anyone feel this way?

92lt, If you truly want the 650, it will be worth the wait. Only a thousand things can happen between production and delivery. Anywhere from "ooops we forgot" to legal "delivery mumbo jumbo". Don't get bored and go with another, Even as a Traxter owner, Kaw 650 is pretty nice ATV.

KAWASAKI REP AT SUPERCROSS LAS VEGAS SATURDAY: SAID THERE ARENT DELAYS THE DATES WERE GIVEN BY DEALERS AND NOT SPECIFICALLY FROM KAW. THEY WILL BE OUT THIS MONTH BE PATIENT, REMEMBER, AS A KID, YOU WAITED TILL DEC. 25 TO OPEN GIFTS. DONT SETTLE FOR SECOND BEST JUST THINK HOW YOU WOULD FEEL IF YOU WERE OUT RIDING AND YOU GOT PLASTED OF THE TRAIL. BY A 650. IT WILL BE WORTH IT.
P.S. THESE ARE 2002 MODELS SO IN REAL TERMS THEY ARE MONTHS EARLY. YEA!!!

The wait is over for me. I purchased a Sportsman 500HO this past Friday. I think the Kawasaki will be a nice machine, whenever it comes out.

High volume dealers are supposed to have them by weeks end. Or local dealer isn't for Kawi but he is for Honda and Polaris. Says he'll get his the last wek of the month hopefully.

I personally would not believe anything a Kawasaki rep says and he surely is not going to tell you they are trying to work out any problems.
Just my 2 cents.

UPDATE: I went down to the dealer today and they said that they received their "allowance" of 3 vehicles and Kawasaki promised them to be at the dealers during the month of May. So they are expected anytime now. But I'll believe them when I actually see them in person.

yeah, i called kawasaki consumer services and all they would say is , sometime in may, i was at my dealer today, and they got some of the plastic rack covers that are supposed to go onto the 650 when they get here, so maybe that means it is soon, i hope so
