is there anyway i can make my 2000 400 explorer out run my friends 2001 400 scrambler 2x4?what mods and how much?

 

Exhaust change makes a big differance.I also added a Delta V-force reed valve and a spacer kit,KN filter w/airbox mods, rejeting and a Hot seat clutch kit.Now she kicks the a$$ off most any utility 4x4 out there.Call Rick Ritter at 618-644 3211 he'll have most all this stuff,

but will your explorer outrun a stock 400 scrambler?

 

Start with K&n then get the clutch kit and pipe and if u go with the Delta V-force reed valve and spacers, make sure you put them on the right way.

 

I have not raced a Scrambler,however,I think I would beat one in a drag race with my current mods.

I have beaten 2 scrambler 400's with my xplorer. They were both stock. If they have a pipe and clutch kit there is no way. You should buy hpd exhaust, clutch kit, reed cage, carb, and change your gearing. I went from the 13 tooth stock countershaft to a 11 tooth. It didn't affect the 4wd at all. Lots more low end power. Also taking weight off your bike will help alot.
