I have a scram 500 4x4 and was wondering if it helps performance wise to remove the air box cover or even just the snorkle on it? I usually ride at about 7,000 to 10,000 ft. elevation. I have the k&n filter on it and when i take the air box cover off it has a deeper sound could it be getting to much air. any help would be very helpful

I know my sp 500 will not run good without the cover at lower elev. It also my understanding that the stock CV carb needs to have accurate atmospheric psi in order to perform correctly, it may be that the carb is also required to have a knowen "box" psi. If your machine runs good at wide open when your at 10,000 feet, do a plug check and let that be a guide.
Enjoy the view.
