I know it's not the most politically correct question, but....What's the top speed on the Rancher. I'm thinking of getting one (or the Rubicon). Which brings up another question. Is the $1,500 difference in price worth the step from the 4x4 ES Rancher to the Rubicon?

My 2x4 ES Rancher will go 53mph. I am sure the Rubicon is probably worth the $1,500 price difference but I don't know because I've never actually ridden one.

You have to ride them both to know. Plus what are you planning to use it for? I have a '01 Rancher and it's perfect for trail riding and general use, it's a blast because it's light and nimble on the turns. Makes it easier to toss around, wherein I see the Rubi as a huntin, load bearing, utility machine... nothing bad, probably a nice ride, but I was looking for something a bit more agile on the trails.

I just traded my 01 Rancher es for a Rubi. In my opinion there is no comparison. The Rubi rides better, is easier to turn, has more power and has the same turning radius. It also feels much more stable on the trail.

We were at the dealers the other day with the kids. They all spontaniously broke out laughing. I asked them why. They were looking at a big Yamaha 4X4. They said if you're going to ride a big CLUNKY TANK like that, why not just buy a TANK in the first place.

Tank?? It's no bigger than the Rubicon, atleast weight wise. I see you have a 300EX. I'd be willing to bet that the Grizzly is quicker than the 300EX....oh, and Rancher extreme terraiin??? That's funny, how bout the Grizz?? Again better in most, if not all situations than your Rancher. OUT

With the 4X4 Ranch, I specialize in rockhounding. You know, bolder strewn old mining roads. You probably have a few of those in Utah? I blow right by trucks that are stuck all the time (then I go back to see if I can help, but I blow by them first just to make a point!). The little Rancher is light and maneuverable. Once you get bigger than the Rancher, all the SPORT is gone form SPORT/UTILITY. I wouldn't have a 600 lb. Rubicon either.
