Chain tensioners do they work?
#1
I need some feed back from you guys on this. My chain no matter what I do jumps a bit when you hit the gas hard from a stand still. Will this help? I just put a new chain on and after a short ride before my clutch buttons broke and it still did it, and yes the chain was tight at first and now it is allready a bit looser. It seems as though it always wants to be loose enough to slide on the wear pad on the swing arm. My chain is an 8000 lb tensile strength. Which is the same as the DID X-ring.

I got a 96 Scrambler and have had ot from new. I looked at the HPD chain tensioner, but as I have never had a chain break , derail or skip, I thought what's the point. When I replace a chain, I ALWAYS replace both sprockets at the same time (about every 2 years). The Scrambler is modded, and must be doing about 50-55hp by now. I still use OEM chains and sprockets.

I use Hot Seats chain tensioner for my 96 Sport. Have had to replace it once in a year and a half. It is pretty easy to change though I'm not sure it will fit a concentric drive machine. Part # is ATVCT and costs $49.95. Their phone # IS 651-982-0600. HHope this helps. Oh yeah I agree check sprockets and swingarm am sure its one of those causing your chain to skip.

HPD make all chain tensioners even the one hot seat has. HPD just came out with a chain tensioner for the concentric drive an if the made one for the concentric drive then there is something that is happening that they made them for it. So you can get a chain tensioner for your quad.
