how does the 440 big bore compare to the raptor? I am thinking about getting a 400ex but I love the power of the raptor. I've riden both the 400 and the 660 and I like the 400 for everything else but the power so I was wondering how much the 440 and the other upgrades help it out? thanks for the info everyone

I have a modded 440 and I raced 2 rapotors at cocherton poker run. I beat the stock raptor 3 out of 3. I also raced a piped jetted and airboxed one and I beat him 2 times out of 3. The 440 give the ex alot more power I had mine dynoed at 44.5HP at the rear wheels.

I had the fortune of riding my buddies Raptor for an entire day about a month ago. The Raptor was a great machine. The suspension, traction, power, handling, everything. The reverse is really cool too. The one and only complaint I have is the difference between 1st and 2nd gear. While following my buddies on a technical trail, I constantly found that 1st was too low and 2nd was too high. I understand that with a sprocket change that problem can be cured. I own a full race 440 and love it, but if the Raptor had been out before I sunk an additional $6,000.00 into my bike, I would be a first time Yamaha owner right now.
