Every time I would ride my 400ex hard and for an extended period of time, the front end would squeek like an old materess at Motel Six. And, as usual, after a trip to Broken Spokes (a local MX track), the front end started to squeek again. Being fed up with aerosol lubricants that only work for a day or two, I took both front shocks off, cleaned them with engine degreaser, and put liberal amounts of industrial black-streak grease on, and put it back together. Not only is the squeek gone, but the front suspension feels like it moves much smoother! (This second one might be an illusion of my insanity, i'm not sure). So, for a half hour of work, my front suspension feels wonderful again!

My 300 does the same. Exactly where did you put the grease on the shocks at? On the shaft or where it connects to the frame.

Ooops, I can't believe I left that out. Where it connects to the frame, there is a bushing in each mounting bracket, which I pulled out, and greased.
