Anyone ever experienced a slipping belt after riding in deep snow on the 2000 scrambler??

 

You just melted some snow in there and made it slip.

 

Actually, I get belt slippage riding in powder with my Y2K 500SP. Dealer said that the casing is not perfectly sealed, and the flying powder gets in and causes slippage. He says the casing has to have ventilation, but why does powder snow get in? Don't know of many Polaris SLED owners around here that complain about slippage. Another customer feedback memo to Polaris....

 

I don't know i have had the PVT completely under water up to the vent tube for a minute or two pudding through a shallow river and had no slippage.

When i first got my quad i had problems with the belt slipping but found out later that the PVT cover was installed incorrectly. The gasket was all messed up and water kep gettin in there. After i did my clutch i replaced the gasket. I used a very thin layer of 3m gorrilla snot on the cover side of the gasket to keep it in place and provide a better seal. It is not recommended and too much sealer can cause havoc when removing the gasket.
