My friend has an '86 230, his clutch needs new plates and springs, I am going to help him re-build it.

I can honestly say I have never fixed a clutch before but we have a repair manual to help us. Can you guys give me a few pointers and tips on re-building a clutch??...I have heard you should dip the new clutch plates in oil so they wont stick...should I do that??
Any tips apprechiated...THANKS

No you didn't post it in the wrong area. A clutch is a clutch. Yes, you should dip the fiber plates as well as the metal plates in oil before you install them. I even let the fiber plates sit in the oil for an hour before installation to allow them to swell to their proper thickness. I also replied to a thread asking about a Hinson clutch basket a couple of days ago you might want to look at. It tells you how to repair a stock clutch basket instead of buying a new one. Anything else let us know!
