Well no I am not computer illiterate but am a new owner of a yellow 400ex. I just wanted to say hello to all the people that have been posting such great and informative info about the 400ex. It was not the turning factor to buy one but did help me to get an idea about the customer response on the bike. I have two friends that race in the GNCC events and I rode their modified 400's and loved them, back in high school I used to race a LT250R in the mid south series hare scrambles. i always loved it when someone would let me try their TRX250R. WOW what a bike. I think allot is to be said about the 400ex giving me the same feel with slightly less power but just as much confidence. FYI this is my buddies sight that races the GNCC. www.2fast2crash.com Lots of pics check it out.
I also just had to tell you the deal I got on my 400ex. I was shopping for a new one but the best they could do for me was about $5500 with tax and everything else. Well i started searching the paper for a 2001 and called on 15 to 20 bikes. One guy caught my attention. I drove about two hours to a small town and their it sat. Four tanks of gas ran through it all stock and two months still on warranty. The plastic was showroom perfect. He had drove it up and down a country rode he lived on and in his yard. It has never seen the real mud or any good trails. He was selling it because the tranny in his Jeep just kicked the bucket and got more enjoyment out of the Jeep the the wheeler. He wanted $4700.00 for it and I walked away after one hour of talking with a new 400ex and $4200.00 cash missing from my pocket.
Well Thanks for all the good tips and comments made about the 400ex, I am going shopping I still have $500 bucks left over I budgeted for it. So aftermarket parts here I come!!!!!!!!!!
