2002 Grizzly problem ??????????

I just got a 2002 Grizzly when I put it in four wheel drive I get a vibration coming through the handlebars. At first I thought it was because of the new steering geometry and front axle setup. but the more miles i put on it the more noticeable it is getting. My 2000 Grizzly had 6878 miles on it and never vibrated a bit. When I put the new one in two wheel drive it is as smooth as buter. But as soon as I click it into 4WD it starts to vibrate the bars very noticeably. The quad is bone stock with less than 100 miles on it. The differentials are full of oil and everything is tight and greased. I hope the hell this is not normal for the Quad or im going to be very dissapointed. Anyone with any Comments that actually owns a new Grizzly would really be appreciated HAMBONE!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! !

I notice a different noise when I'm in 4wd also. I also can tell that the engine feels a little different too. At first it made me wonder if the 4wd was holding it back a little, but all that changed when I hit 66 down a dirt road in 4wd. The auto tranny also makes wierd noises, but I'm used to a manual so I figured that this was just something that goes with the territory on autos.

I haven't noticed any vibrating on mine while in 2wd, 4wd, or 4 diff lock all of them seem relatively smooth.

I would check the tire pressures. This may be something you've already considered, but low air pressure in front or rear can cause the driveline to work against itself. Hope you figure it out.

I notice mine's a little clunky when downshifting, but I can't tell from any sound or vibration whether mine's in 4wd or 2wd. You should take it to the dealer, Sounds like a problemo. My lo indicator light stayed on no matter what gear it was in, yesterday while we were riding in the rain. Once we dried out everything was fine.[img]i/expressions/face-icon-small-cool.gif[/img]

The only thing Ive noticed so far is a slight clunking sound if you let off the gas to slow down and then hit the throttle again. The sound happens when you get back on the gas, I just assumed auto tranny noise.

You should notice some extra gear noise when in 4wd but not really any more vibes. I would have it checked out at the dealer the ring and pinion were probubly set up wrong. Have you taken a diffrent one for a ride at the dealer to compare ????????????

No vibrations in mine but I could get 67mph out of it stock but now with 27" Gators all it will do is 55mph.

That change is due to the tire diameter. Check your speed with a GPS if you can get your hands on one. You will still be close to your original top speed, its just that your speedometer is different because you have a taller tire.

Remember, the stockers measure out to around 24" and your gator are probably up around 26.5". When I had the stockers on my AC, it would show about 59mph on the speedo when the GPS showed 51. With the 27" Claws, the speedo showed 54 and the GPS showed 52.

Hey gentelman turns out my problem was a bad bearing.Yamaha overnighted my dealer a new front diferrential they will be installing it monday. they were to do it this weekend but there top wrench had a familly emergency. The dealer wanted ther top dog fixing the problem. That works for me. I cant wait to get the Grizzly back I miss it. Its like getting to kiss that particullarly sweet young girl you have been chasing and then finding out the next day that she has moved away!!!!!!!!!!
