Do you remember the old 2000 Grizzly?
Well I bought a 2000 grizz a couple of months ago and last weekend I did some water/mud riding.
I had no problems until the last couple of puddles. I was messing around and trying to splash my buddy, I hit the last couple and it started to bog down real bad, almost to the point were I couldn't move at all. It didn't seem that the belt was slipping (but then again I have never experienced a belt slip before), I was thinking maybe water was hitting the spark plug (I have heard of others having this problem) causing it to bog down.
When I say it bogged down I mean it felt like I was running out of gas. What happens when the belt slips, does it rev up and you don't move?
I appreciate any and all assistance

I have a 1999 grizz bought in Jan. 2001. I started having this problem also. It did not matter if it was deep or shallow. I was told that the problem is that steam is entering the air box. This may be true because I have already covered my plug with grease and I still have this problem. The next solution I was told was to snorkel the bike. If you get your problem fixed, please post and let me know. THANKS!!

I had a 1999 and 2000 and now a 2002 grizzly both the 99 and 00 when hitting water fast would get water in both the plug/head and start skipping very bad. Take the plug out and try to start it and water will spit out of the head, when done drain air box, reinstall plug, and all should be well. If your transmission starts slipping your engine will rev as normal but not much movement or pulling of the machine. If that happens there is a bolt drain under the transmission cover you can unscrew with i think 10mm socket and when drained reinstall and should be back to normal almost instantly. 2002 grizzly has a drain plug on the transmission that does not require any tools to drain, almost like a boat plug. Also di-electric grease on plug does help eliminate most of the plug problems.
