Ok, First my silecner...cobra silencer to be exact...fell off, we managed to jam it back on with a little help from my size 12 boot, and it worked great for about a whole 1/2 hour, then i cased on a double pretty hard, after i recovered from the landing, i noticed that is sounded a little louder...probably because the whole silencer and megaphone assembly and various bolts...which were never found... were laying back on the ground where i landed...so i figured, we're only about an hour into our ride, screw it, i'm goin on anyway...it just sounds a little louder...loud enough that my buddy couldn't hear himself think... but anyway, we layed it under a tree, and came back for it when we were done riding, which was about 5 hrs. later...so now to the question

did i screw anything up by riding my 250X for a good 5 hrs or so with just the stock headpipe???...buy the way, it was some pretty hard riding too!!!, i mean it was wide open for about 4.5 of the 5 hours!!!

what do you guys think?

 

I dont think anything would have gotten hurt by this. I mean sand dragsters do it on 2 strokes all the time. I just wouldnt think that it would perform well though. Seeing that with 4 strokes the power band is made by the silencer.

 

Hey 205X, I don't think you messed anything up. Since the Cobra is pretty much a megaphone anywayz, it shouldn't have made that much of a difference.
