I once owned a Blaster that I purchased used and found it to be a very reliable quad. The main thing that didn't like about it was no reverse gear.

I now own both a Honda and Kawasaki and consider the Kawasaki the best deal by far, however both are utility quads.

Hondas probably have better resale value if you suspect you may one day sell it.

I have ridden all that you have listed. The Blaster is cheapest, but it is kick start only, with no reverse. Next is the Mojave: Kick start only, it does have reverse. 300EX is the most expensive, it has reverse, electric start, no recoil or kick starter for backup. All three quads handle great.

First thing I would do is go a test ride or ride someones to see which one you like the most. It all comes downs to what the indivdual wants in a quad and how much $$$$ they want to spend. They all have a great amount of aftermarket hop-ups available and are very tuner friendly.

I will not sit here and tell you wich one to buy,(they all jump well and are close enough in a drag race)but instead I'll tell you why I bought a Mojave. I too was considering a 300EX. The Blaster never really was in my list because I had ridden my cousins wich was new at that time and I didn't like the brakes, mechanical drums on front and mechanical disc on the rear. The two stroke was also on my not to do list because of the lack of engine compression braking and reliability. No reverse. It makes sense why it's so much cheaper. On the other hand, what didn't make sense was why is the Mojave so much cheaper than a 300EX? They both have reverse, they are both 4 strokes, the Mojave is liquid cooled, that was a plus from my eyes, performance is similar even though the Mojave has an edge in acceleration and top speed. So what was left? Looks, and feel. I thought the Mojave looked better, and I like the way it felt to ME. So, my recomendation is, try all the quads and consider the most important factors to your friend and then choose from there.

I bought a KSF for My girlfriend, not thinking anything of it, but after I did some things to it (DG chrome Pipe, K&N ) and drilled the air box, I was shocked at how much faster it became. Stock it was fun, but not exactly a thrill ride, now it gives off an earsplitting exhaust note and takes blowsand in 4th. Overall I think I got alot more than I thought I would get from this bike.

DoubleN, where and how large did you drill the airbox?

I wont speak for double n, but I bought an extra air filter cover and drilled it. I put about 10 1/8 in holes in it. I use this one for dry conditions or racing with the local crew. I ride in too much water to have converted to the clamp on. It is kinda nice because it only takes about 5 minutes to change the plastic cover. I won't say I can feel the results in the seat of my pants, but hey, 1/4 or 1/2 horse might be what keeps those warriors and 300 ex's and blasters fighting for 2nd place!
